| Christ Church
Christ Church was built in the traditional Gothic style by the Victorians in the middle of the 19th century. It was opened as a Chapel of Ease in 1873. Christ Church as it is today grew gradually over the last century and it now seats 300 people. It has a robed choir and an excellent organ. Its worship style is perhaps slightly more traditional than that of St. Andrew's. From January 1st 2006 St. Andrew's and Christ Church became separate parishes. Plans for this change are well under way and a new PCC at Christ Church will take full responsibility for the parish and prepare for the appointment of a new incumbent. The Church wardens are Ms Lucinda Smyth and Mr. John Brydon. | |
